Okay.. so im not a fan of ginger and all. In fact, i hate ginger. BUT this is considered an exception cause we made gingerbread house! Wheeee~ FUN!
Actually, a group of 4 people were supposed to come up with one gingerbread house, but then cause there were very little of us who came to class, we made 1 house for everyone! It wasn't hard to make one really, you just need to make the dough, shape it, bake it and finally assembling and deco of course!
When we were about to start, we were all like let's just keep it simple and nice, and everyone agreed. I mean simplicity is the best beauty! Nothing can go wrong with it. So after that, work was distributed to everyone and soon enough, we started our work.
The templates includes basics, such as base, walls, roof, chimney, doors, windows, gates, stairs and much more. We were all very much surprised to how long it takes to make this! We started at around 11.30, we finished at about 4! We even had to skip a class for this! Luckily the lecturer was only giving out answers for last class' answers then everyone was dismissed. So now, allow me to show you our final product!

Term 5 Kitchen Class 6
Sooo... I had my kitchen class like usual every week. But what made this week so special that i decided to talk about it? Well to start with, our starter was risotto and main course is duo of duck. Sigh i lost my mood to talk. But anyway, yeah... So for the risotto i decided to make pumpkin risotto~~~ No not the one where it is literally orange in colour and looks like baby food. Yuck noo... I cubed the pumpkins and throw it in. For duck i made confit of duck leg and pan sear the duck breast.
Yeahhh........ risotto was a disaster. There was only ONE (1) small pumpkin for the whole class and in the end i only got like 3 regular dice size. Imagine that. Then my risotto was overcooked. I know that it had to be al dente but i had no idea al dente for risotto was THAT hard. II IS suppose to feel like it's not cooked (literally). Plus the stock was damn salty and thus my risotto was ultra salty, even tho i did not season it.
Lastly, i add 2 spoonful of parmesan cheese. I guess that was my fault, in the end it got cold and become stone hard! HAHAHA~ oopsies...
But on the bright side, my main course saved the day. For the side dishes i made roasted cherry tomatoes, spinach in cream sauce, blanched asparagus and sauteed tournee potatoes. Oh my god don't even make me start on the potatoes. In the beginning of the class. I had NO potatoes. Literally! In the end i got 3 mini sized potato which fyi was about to go bad. Yeah...not pretty.
So anyway, that day miracle happened. I was the very first person to serve my dish. Usually i'd be like the centre or one of the few last. So yeah it was kinda awkward but happy. When i served my plate, chef was like "WOAHH... if you do this for your finals... you surely pass. Guaranteed!!!" Like obviously i was damn happy la~ Hahaha... He said i had a lot of improvements from my previous class. And hopefully i would eventually improve from time to time! =]

HIHI! Gosh it's been so long since i last wrote here. Teehee. First of all, i would like to wish everyone Happy Chinese New Year. To those celebrating and to those who's not. Next of is i got back to Medan for the New Year (i know. again). But it's a big family reunion. MY sisters, brothers, cousins, and even family that i do not know of. LOL.
So the main point of me babbling and talking here is to show y'all my new creationnn.... Behold~ Chocolate Banana Cake..... Tarrah~

I don't really have anything to say. Just wanted to update moi blog.
Hahaha~ Well to those curious. I made this with Sacher Torte Recipe. I know i was suppose to just use sponge recipe. But i realized i don't have any. So yeahh...
But it tastes quite nice and banana-ey. Since i added mashed bananas to the mixture. But it kinda made the torte kinda hard. So yeah note to self. Kay buay~ See u at the next post! :D
